Hurricane Helene wreaks havoc on historic Biltmore Estate in North Carolina
Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to Asheville's Biltmore Estate. While the main buildings remained largely intact, low-lying areas and forested portions suffered substantial flooding, wind damage, and the loss of some animals. Initial assessments estimate the estate will be closed until at least October 15.
