Wildfires in Sao Paulo state, Brazil, claimed two lives and prompted high alert in 36 cities. Over 7,300 personnel have been deployed to combat the fires fueled by a heat wave and drought. Two industrial plant workers died while fighting a fire in Urupes. The fires are the worst in decades, with 4,973 incidents reported.
