In July, the Mediterranean experienced severe heat waves, hitting temperatures over 40°C, which scientists attributed to global warming. The World Weather Attribution concluded that such temperatures would have been virtually impossible without human-induced climate change. This heatwave affected multiple countries and resulted in fatalities, wildfires, and challenges for athletes in the Summer Olympic Games.
